Coffeeneuring 2018 Ride 1 – Taftsville Country Store

Thistle and I are excited to start the coffeeneuring season, even if it will be colder this year since we moved to Vermont.

Today’s ride was a mellow 8 mile trip along River Road from Woodstock to Taftsville and back, with a wooden bridge at each end.

It’s toward the end of fall foliage season here, so a few cars and folks near the bridges.

The Taftsville Country Store has been open since 1840 and sits just up the hill from the iconic red bridge. The coffee was just ok and the tea was good, but I think it’s a better place for Vermont cheese, wine and supplies.

With temps in the low 50’s, we enjoyed sitting on the steps in the sun.

We finished the drinks and rolled back to Woodstock along the Ottauquechee River again.
